Richard J. Archer | CFA, MBA

Richard launched Archer Investment Management with the goal of bringing institutional-level sophistication to individuals and nonprofit organizations. Richard Archer spent much of his career working with very large, complex institutional portfolios, and he translates these skills to AIM clients.

After graduating with honors from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, he began his career with an elite brokerage team in Indianapolis, Indiana where he consulted to select nonprofits and high-net-worth families with assets totaling over $1 billion.

In 2002, he earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation and moved to Austin with his wife Jessica to join a top national consulting team at Smith Barney. There, he continued to serve large institutional clients by researching and monitoring professional investment managers and hedge funds. He earned his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business in 2009.

To serve the community, Richard has held board positions with the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, the Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps, and the Austin Humane Society. Currently, he is a member of the boards of Leadership Austin and the McCombs MBA Alumni Association..
